David Braunstein CFA, CPA
KVB Capital LLC began in early 2003 under the name "Kathleen Victoria Braunstein." Kathie Braunstein desired to help people with a strategy that reduces the volatility of their investment portfolios with an objective to deliver absolute returns. From inception she met her goal except for one down year where client returns dropped less than 2%. Our clients showed positive returns during 2008 when the S&P 500 Index declined over 37%. At the end of 2012, David left the oil business and joined KVB Capital full time.
Kathie spent most of her career as a financial services executive. She began her carreer as a manager with USAA in San Antonio. Kathie also led an annuity and retirement plans department with Great American Reserve. She is a proud mother of two sons both who earned their Eagle Scout. She taught math to under-privileged individuals at Catholic Charities to help them get their GED. She has been on the FEMA board, the finance council of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church, she is on the board of the Able Center for Independent Living, she is an active member of Hadassah and the Temple Beth El sisterhood. She started KVB Capital in 2003.
David started investing in the stock market when he was only six years old. His grandfather was a stock market self-made millionare from his philosophy of buying low PE stocks. David followed his grandfather's example and began his investment career at USAA Investment Management Company in 1982 as a stock analyst working under Phil Carlton who was the #1 rated small-cap fund at that time. He then went to Dallas where he worked under the top rated portfolio managers Ben Fischer, Chris Najark and Johnny Johnson who consistantly ranked in the top 10 money managers ranked by Institutional Investor during the 1980's. He worked as Director of Investments for a large domestic oil company for the last 15 years until he joined KVB Capital at the beginning of 2013. David is a Charted Financial Analyst and a CPA.
